TESTIMONIALS

Mathew B.

New York

I have always been a natural living person and make most of the things I use - cleaning supplies, candles, skin creams, and have been doing this for years. In a lot of the things, beeswax is an ingredient, and I have become quite the beeswax 'connoisseur.' High quality beeswax makes a huge difference and can be, surprisingly, tough to find.

WHY BUY FROM US?

The quality of pure beeswax depends on the production methods used. The color of freshly produced beeswax is white, later it turns to yellow. The yellow color originates from propolis and pollen colorants. There are two wax extraction methods from combs. Melting and chemical extraction. Our wax is melted from combs that are frequently exchanged and usually less than a year old. Old combs that are a few years old yield dark color wax caused by larval feces, pupil skins and propolis. After melting high quality combs, the wax has a beautiful yellow color. Our beautiful yellow wax is then brightened in the sun and whitened using deactivated carbon . The freshly produced wax is then sealed in in U.V. resistant bags and stored in a dry cool place for best preservation.

Some Uses for beeswax

Beeswax is a natural wax produced in the bee hive of honey bees of the genus Apis. The wax is formed by eight wax-producing glands in the abdominal segments of worker bees. The workers collect it and use it for structural material in the hive. Chemically, beeswax consists of mainly esters of fatty acids and various long-chain alcohols.

Packed in heavy, sealed bags so you know it's pure. Pellets are small and uniform in size so they melt easily. Color hardly varies. Nice aroma. Use organic beeswax for lip balms and lotions so you know that whatever comes in contact with your lips and skin is pure and safe. Lots of recipes on the Internet.

ORGANIC?

Yes beeswax is a natural product and no additive are permitted. Examination of the sensory characteristics as described above (ref. what to look for in a high quality beeswax) allows a simple and quick quality check. The main contaminants of beeswax are non toxic chemicals used by beekeepers in beekeeping such as acetic or formic acid. Some traces of organic pollutants are sometimes present but traces of pesticides are rarely detected in beeswax. As beeswax is used in cosmetics and pharmaceuticals it should contain minimum amount of contaminants. Unfortunately there are no maximum residue limits (MRLs) for contaminants. For beeswax used in organic beekeeping MRLs of between 0.1 and 1mg/kg (1.0% or less) have been proposed. The limits will guarantee that no measurable amounts of impurities can diffuse from wax into honey.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR IN A HIGH QUALITY BEESWAX?

Here are the sensory tests performed by our quality department:
 • Color: white to off white
• Odor:  heat wax , odor should be pleasant and honey-like.
• Chewing test: wax should not stick to teeth
• Breakage test: upon breaking should have a fine-granular, blunt, not crystalline structure
• Cutting test:  wax should not stick to the knife
• Splinters test: scratch wax with nail or knife. Splinters should have a spiral form
• Kneading test: kneading for 10 minutes, wax should be plastic
• Consistency:  should not stick upon cutting

The smaller pellets make working with this product so easy to measure. The smaller pellets also make the product melt more evenly than the big blocks of beeswax. Awesome service too: quick delivery and convenient packaging.

17 Cool Uses for Beeswax

Beeswax is one of the coolest substances, in my eyes. It's completely natural, being that it is actually formed by the worker bees (all females) which secret it through 8 wax-producing mirror glands on the inner sides of their abdomen. These mirror glands are the reason for the honeycomb shape...

I received this item just within a few days after ordering it. This was the first time I had ever bought any beeswax, so never really knew what to expect. Well I was very happy with it. I smells just like honey. I made my first lotion bars using it. I intended on scenting them with essential oil but the beeswax smelled so good I did'nt need to. It seems to go a long way also, I can't tell I've even used any out of the bag, love it.
